Hot Keys are used to perform tasks more quickly with the keyboard. If you want to copy text from one source to another you can use the Cntrl key and C.
You must press Hot Keys in order. For example, if the command is Ctrl+C you have to depress the Ctrl key and hold it, then press the C while still holding Ctrl.
Note that not all keyboards have the buttons in the same place.
